Introducing the Andale Group
The Andale Group is a family business where its members have a diverse but relevant background to acquiring and owning businesses.
We, as the main director, are Stephen Baxendale and Gillian Anderson. We are both award winning entrepreneurs and have owned our own consulting businesses since 1997. Our entire working lives have been focused on transforming businesses, and over the years, worked on many post M&A activities and business growth assignments. We continually grow our skills through continual learning in the latest entrepreneurial trends of strategy, finance, marketing, sales and operational management.
Our other main focus for several decades has been our property business in both the UK and Australian. We are dual citizens and until three years ago we were living in Australia but moved back to the UK for aging family reasons. Covid was a time of decision for us and we chose to stay in the UK to build a portfolio of enterprises.
With our property projects nearing completion, we are at a crossroads again. We have taken the decision to look to acquire a small group of businesses in the manufacturing arena. Using over 40 years of skills in business transformation, business management and acquisition management for other businesses, we are now looking to apply these well honed skills to our own group.
Our family is a blended family with two generations involved in the Andale Group, but may soon be joined by a third generation, who wants to learn how to be entrepreneurial in building a successful business for themselves.
We know how successful businesses operate. We know what it takes to develop strong client relationships, motivated teams and excellent financial returns. We also know how to manage risk and navigate through tough economic cycles.
Through our creativity and insights, we have helped many businesses from small SMEs to large global corporations to successfully grow, enter new markets and become leaders in their field, whilst maintaining a world-class team.

Consulting & Entrepreneurship
Stephen concentrates on the detail needed to be successful business owners, leaving Gillian to be the operational and team manager drawing on both their consulting backgrounds. Both have extensive entrepreneurial training and have years of experience improving businesses. They also apply this expertise to their own business.
Property Development
Stephen leads our property development. In Australia he concentrated on residential new builds,. However, since our move to the UK he has fully educated himself in the opportunities on offer here. He is involved in converting and renovating large HMOs and commercial to residential projects.
Professional Services
We are interested in acquiring professional services that complement Construction. Developments give great insight into the legal, planning and design aspects of the property world. We are therefore, particularly keen to acquire Conveyancing, Surveryers, Security and Specialist Finance organisations.
Fencing and Groundworks
Kathryn, our daughter and her partner Peter are hands-on in running and delivering for SMEs. Kathryn ran a fencing and decking business in Australia for over three years, and is currently managing a unique coffee related business. Peter is a highly experienced carpenter and builder. In his words, he can do everything except Electrics and Plumbing as he is currently not certified.

We are looking to acquire businesses related to Manufacturing or construction. Whilst these are wide sectors, and we are likely not to have specific expertise in the particular industry, our goal is to retain the existing staff and legacy of the seller.

About the Directors
Gillian Anderson
Director
Gillian is the leader of the team utilising her experience as a management consultant across a wide range of industries and clients.
Born in the UK, Gillian has worked in 47 countries helping large international businesses and SMEs to improve systems and processes, with a focus on change management, culture and project delivery.
Back in the UK again she is seeking businesses to build the family group.
Stephen
Director
Stephen is a seasoned Property Developer, Project Manager and Business Analyst, having successfully delivered a range of projects in the UK and Australia. He also has extensive management consulting experience.
After 50 years in Australia, Stephen is now in the UK delivering property projects and partnering with Gillian in building a small group of companies.
Stephen and Gillian are life partners.
Kathryn Upshall
Director
Kathryn managed a decking and fencing company in Australia for several years, before moving to Ireland, where she now manages a unique specialiatist coffee set up. She will shortly relocate again to the UK with her partner Peter, who is a carpenter and builder.
Born in Bermuda, she is a seasoned traveller and has worked in a range of roles across several positions providing client service delivery, her skills allow her to build trust quickly with her team and clients.
Kathryn is also a mum with two small children.
Our Developments
We are finishing our developments for now and will be focusing our attention to acquisitions.
HMOs
Converting existing properties to Homes of Multiple Occupants (HMOs). Either taking an existing single house and creating additional bedrooms with their own ensuites, or upgrading existing HMOs to higher specifications.
Commercial to Residential Conversions
Commercial properties come in all shapes and sizes. This is our current focus with a pub conversion and possibly a factory being converted to flats to provide affordable housing.
Renovate and Flips
We love to do ‘flips’. This is to find tired old properties and bring them back to life. This usually includes upgrading the kitchens and bathrooms, repainting and recarpeting. Sometimes it also includes replastering and modernising rooms to make them bright and airy.
Serviced Accommodation
A new venture of ours. We have one house that is on the serviced accommodation market.
